He wanted to go to another section. "Walk" prohibited by regulation. In front of the no of two prison police officers, a Nigerian prisoner of Bancali prison, in Sassari , attacked them with kicks and punches, in the face and chest. Only the intervention of a few colleagues stopped the attacker's fury. The two agents, on the other hand, were transferred to the hospital, outside the penitentiary institution, where the injuries sustained were treated.

The complaint about the umpteenth attack against Sardinian prison staff comes from the Uil-Pa regional secretary of the penitentiary police, Michele Cireddu.

The ban on moving between sections, explains the trade unionist, derives from the fact that "often in fact prisoners who cannot meet are obviously placed in different sections, and the consequences in the event of transgression of these provisions can be tragic, especially if meet subjects who belonged to rival criminal associations on the outside».

Having explained the reasons for the rigidity of the agents, Cireddu recalls that «Minister Nordio, in his initial speech, had associated

metaphorically a punch suffered by the agents as suffered by himself.

On the other hand, equally metaphorically we acknowledge that, considering the inertia shown so far, the too many punches suffered sent him to the

rug".

Demanding respect for the rules, guaranteeing legality, keeping the symbol of the State high even in places such as prisons, considered border areas, «triggers in certain troublesome prisoners the pretext for attacking the agents, because unfortunately they are aware that the State is demonstrating all its weakness by allowing the Agents to be the sacrificial victims".

Cireddu also represents the difficult situation in the Sardinian institutes: «The director is divided between Sassari and Cagliari, yet another commander

“provisional” was sent on a mission from the Peninsula, just long enough to

understand how the prison of Sassari works, and it is not difficult to hypothesize the umpteenth alternation of both figures, because the prison administration is demonstrating all its weakness and inadequacy to manage an increasingly alarming situation".
