The Chief of the National Fire Brigade, Eros Mannino, arrived yesterday afternoon in Carbonia aboard Drago, the Fire Brigade helicopter, after having visited the provincial command of Cagliari, and landed at the Carlo Zoboli municipal stadium in the Sulcis capital, where he was welcomed by the mayor Pietro Morittu and the commander of the local police Andrea Usai.
Subsequently, accompanied by the Regional Director of the Fire Brigade, Nicola Micele, and the Provincial Commander, Luca Manselli, they went to the Great Mine of Serbariu, where welcomed by the staff of the coal museum, they visited the museum and then, wearing miner's helmets, they took a tour of the underground path of the mine, accompanied by the manager Mauro Villani.
Visit organized by the municipal administration, to give the opportunity to know the city and the history of its birth, perhaps in view of a possible agreement for the construction of a new fire station. "For us it was an honor to be able to host the head of the Fire Department says the mayor Pietro Morittu. I am sure that this visit will open a fruitful joint work". Also present in the mine were some members of the municipal council and the regional director of Area Sardegna Matteo Sestu.
