The friends, relatives and family of Annika Deidda, the 21-year-old from Cagliari who died a week ago in Switzerland , are all wrapped up in compound grief, when the white coffin arrives in Viale Fra Ignazio for a final farewell in the Capuchin church.

The mother Daniela Contu, with dark glasses and the father Gianluca Deidda are already seated in the front row, surrounded by the affection of relatives. Friends, on the other hand, enter behind the coffin and escort it to the altar.

White flowers, a symbol of purity, peace and innocence, protect Annika on her last journey. There are Aunt Isabella's heart of flowers and mum and dad's coffin cover. And then many bouquets of flowers delicately placed in front of the altar. A girl then poses, among the candid roses, a sunflower, which recalls the energy and vitality of the twenty-one year old, protagonist, in her high school years, with her voice and the piano of Siotto Music.

«These flowers express your love for your daughter, your sister and your friend», Father Emanuel said from the pulpit, «before this great mystery we are like Mary. Now there is darkness in your hearts, just as it happened when Jesus died, but he, the son of God, has risen next to his Father and Annika too has now passed on to eternal life».

There is so much pain and disbelief in those looks for their friend from whom that flight of more than 40 meters near the Santa Petrollina waterfall in the Biasca area has forever stolen her dreams and future.

"The family thanks all of you for your presence, but will not be able to receive condolences," says Father Emanuel before dismissing those present. At sixteen Annika Deidda is once again on the hearse that brought her home from Ticino: her last journey is to the cemetery of San Michele. No applause, but a deafening silence accompanies the last moments of the twenty-one year old in front of the Roman amphitheater.

However, Annika's death is shrouded in mystery for the family. The father, who relied on the lawyer Ivan Sanna, presented a complaint to the Cagliari prosecutor's office to reconstruct what happened, together with the Swiss magistrates. To date it is not yet clear whether the Swiss investigators have carried out an autopsy on the young woman's body, if they have not done it, the Deidda family lawyer is ready to present a request to request it.
