The Council has approved the remodeling of the regional plan for the recovery of waiting lists through which financial resources of over 13.6 million euros will be allocated.

"The goal - observes the President of the Region, Christian Solinas - is to enhance the specialist offer, outpatient activities and hospitalization services for Sardinian citizens who, due to the pandemic, have not used, or have done so only in part of the health services. Now it will be up to our health companies to prepare specific action plans within sixty days ".

The plan also provides for the involvement of accredited private structures to which 2 million euros of the over 13 million available will be allocated. Resources that aim to overcome the criticalities of the provision of services.

According to the regional executive, 60% of the resources allocated to private healthcare, which will be entrusted to Ares, will be used for the purchase of outpatient services and 40% for hospital services. Over 11 million, on the other hand, will go to the eight local health authorities and the three hospitals according to the distribution criteria of the regional health fund: 1,736,528 euros to the Sassari local health authority 1; 905,428 euros 2 Gallura; 1,044,470 euros at Asl 3 Nuoro; 368,686 euros at ASL 4 Ogliastra; 924.494 euros at ASL 5 Oristano; 526,656 euros Asl 6 Medio Campidano; 762.981 euro Asl 7 Sulcis; 2,887,830 euros Asl 8 Cagliari; 901.966 euros at the Aou Sassari, 486.595 euros at the Aou in Cagliari; 1,049,162 euros to Arnas G. Brotzu.

"The elimination of waiting lists - says the regional health councilor Nieddu - represents an indispensable objective and one of the most important challenges for our health system in its new structure. With this provision we have given a mandate to the managers of the new companies to proceed with the operational plans. The recovery of waiting lists has always been among our priorities, but the programs launched in the last two years have had to deal with Covid. The pandemic is not yet over but we must look forward because the virus is not the only emergency ".
