Heading into nowhere, zigzagging or faded: Cagliari's bike paths, a game of Russian roulette
(Difficult) journey through the infrastructures that have always been at the centre of the city debatePer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Cycle paths that go nowhere, that begin and end within a few metres of each other (like in Via della Pineta, going up next to the church).
Or paths that suddenly flow into the middle of the traffic (in via XX Settembre). That zigzag (in via Fleming) and force cyclists to throw themselves into the middle of the road to get to the other side. Discolored paths or paths created by tearing down a line of asphalt, without signs (that of Su Siccu, beyond the Nervi, along the Terramaini canal).
It takes a while to actually find a bike path in Cagliari worthy of a European city. Too bad it's only a few hundred meters. The rest of the bike trip in the city is an obstacle course, along a mincemeat of paths where you continually lose your bearings.
