Head-on collision in the night: a 43-year-old from Carbonia and a young man from Portoscuso die

The place of the accident
Fatal accident around 1 am on Provincial Road 2 between Carbonia and Portoscuso.
Two victims: Nicola Trudu and Adriano Desogus, aged 43 and 29.
According to an initial reconstruction, the Grande Punto driven by Trudu, a worker from Carbonia, at km 60 would have invaded the opposite lane and collided head-on with the BMW 320 of Desogus - a chef from Portoscuso - who was proceeding in the opposite direction .
Both drivers died instantly due to their serious injuries . The rescue attempts of the 118 medical staff who intervened on site were useless.
The bodies were extracted with considerable difficulty by the Carbonia firefighters.
There were no other people on board the cars.
The driving and insurance documents of both vehicles were found to be in order.
The road surveys and investigations to reconstruct dynamics and responsibility were carried out by the Carabinieri of Carbonia assisted by colleagues from Giba who informed the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cagliari.
The road remained blocked until 3am.
The bodies of the victims were then returned to their families for funerals.
