He had attracted a 12-year-old from Cagliari on Instagram and was supposed to meet her last Saturday in the Sardinian capital, in the park of Monte Urpinu.

But, sitting on the bench, waiting for him, was an undercover policewoman from the Flying Squad , who had taken the place of the little girl the man had lured a few days earlier.

Thus a 42-year-old worker from Quartu Sant'Elena , with a clean record, was caught red-handed and ended up in handcuffs. He had contacted the 12-year-old on social media and arranged a meeting to have sex in exchange for money. He also asked her to send him some photos, which he didn't get. Because the little girl, frightened by those conversations, told everything to her father who turned to the Cagliari Flying Squad.

So a policewoman from the Common Crime Section took control of the young woman's cell phone and started chatting with the pedophile, obscene undercover conversations that went on for nine days.

The pedophile confessed his age and asked if it was a problem, then tried in vain to get photos and finally proposed meetings, pointing to a secluded bench in the park of Monte Urpinu .

On Saturday afternoon, the Mobile agents hid in different parts of the park and near the bench on which the undercover policewoman sat, waiting for the man to arrive. When the 42-year-old arrived, he sat next to the policewoman and immediately tried to hug her , but was immediately immobilized and handcuffed by the officers.

From an initial analysis of the telephone seized from the man, numerous chats emerged with other minors , the PC was also seized and will be analyzed by the Scientific Police.

The 42-year-old is now locked up in a cell in Uta , has to answer for the crime of child prostitution and faces six to twelve years in prison.
