He goes to throw away waste, falls into the compactor and dies: tragedy in Portoscuso

Tragedy this morning in the Portoscuso eco-center.

A man died after falling into a waste compactor: the victim was called Fabrizio Cherchi, 58 years old.

Unfortunately, the intervention of the Areus air ambulance was useless: the doctor confirmed the death.

According to the very first information, Cherchi, a resident of the town, had gone to the recycling center to deliver waste: clippings that he was unloading from the car, after having collected them in the land where he worked.

He was on the ramp, which is accessed by car, when he lost his balance and ended up crushed by the machinery.

The firefighters and the carabinieri are on site.
