The man who yesterday barricaded himself at home in La Caletta, Siniscola, surrendered after four hours.

Around 11 pm last night, the story that began when the 30-year-old had beaten his mother to death with a rolling pin ended and she had then gone down the street to ask for help. Transported to the San Francesco di Nuoro hospital, she underwent first treatment.

Meanwhile, the son had barricaded himself in the house and threatened everyone with a large knife, looking out from time to time on the balcony. On the spot there were the carabinieri of Siniscola and colleagues from the nearby stations and from Nuoro who for four hours dealt with the man. Until 11pm when they managed to convince him to surrender.

He is in custody but we do not know the reasons why he went into a rage.
