A 43-year-old from Bari , already known to the police, was reported to Guspini by the carabinieri for aggravated fraud .

The investigations were launched following a complaint-complaint presented by a nineteen-year-old local student.

The young man told the military that he had come into contact, through a Telegram group called "Apple Offers", with a man who had put an iPhone 12 up for sale at the modest price of 447.99 euros. Enticed by what seemed like a deal, the 19-year-old made an agreement by telephone with the stranger, then arranging to send the money by means of three instant transfers, which reached the seller . However, the latter never sent the agreed goods.

The young man therefore decided to contact the carabinieri who managed to identify the author of the scam by tracing the flow of money and identifying the person to whom the account in which the money was received is attributable.
