House arrest and an electronic bracelet for the 36-year-old Sassari native accused of robbing two young men at gunpoint on the day of the Cavalcata Sarda (Sardinian Carnival) in Sassari.

This was the decision of investigating judge Sergio De Luca, who ordered the release of the man who was held in Bancali. The man, represented by attorney Paola Cannas, has several pending cases, including significant criminal ones, and is in the care of social services.

According to the charges, the suspect approached the young men in Piazza d'Armi on the evening of May 17th and, under threat of a gun, pulled from his underwear and unleashed, demanded the surrender of some earrings belonging to the two, which were of little value. A complaint was filed immediately, and the suspect was reportedly never lost sight of, having gone to a nearby bar for a drink with his partner. With the support of local police, State Police officers quickly caught up with the 36-year-old, whom the young men clearly recognized, describing his clothing and the fact that he was carrying a rope.

However, there was no trace of either the gun or the earrings, which may have been hidden. Once arrested, the man, at the validation hearing, denied ever having had a gun, instead exercising his right to remain silent regarding the other charges. The judge decided to validate the arrest, ordering the aforementioned measure a few days ago.
