The usual report from the Gimbe Foundation highlights the fact that new coronavirus cases are down by 1.5 percent in Sardinia (after an almost double increase last week). Despite this, in the period between 12 and 18 January, there is still a worsening performance for the currently positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which go from 1,056 to 1,304.
The major criticalities are still found - as seven days ago - in the central part of the island: 827 in Oristano, followed by Nuoro with 692. South Sardinia follows with 569, the area of the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 493 and Sassarese with 393.
Despite the fact that Agenas indicates on the basis of the data referring to yesterday the exceeding of a point of the 15% threshold in non-critical departments, the Gimbe report - which made the measurements in the previous days - records a 14.7% for the saturation of beds in the medical area occupied by Covid-19 patients, while the saturation of beds in intensive care is confirmed to be above the threshold: 13.2%, i.e. + 3.2% compared to the regulatory limit set for the change of band which at this point seems almost certain for Sardinia.
