Seascapes and an intimate, evocative atmosphere overlooking Balai Bay with a sea-view terrace, the wedding feels like poetry meets love story. Julia and Leonardo hail from Metzingen, Germany, but for the most important day of their lives, they chose to get married outdoors, not with a civil ceremony but with a religious one, just steps from the little church of San Gavino a Mare.
The German couple, deeply captivated by the beauty of the Gulf of Asinara, decided to say their "I do" in one of Porto Torres's most picturesque settings, beneath the ancient place of worship, with the sea and the beauty of the coast providing the backdrop for an enchanting day.
Monsignor Salvatore Masia, parish priest of the Basilica of San Gavino, officiated the ceremony, wishing the newlyweds a long and happy life. Once again, the Porto Torres coast has become a favorite location for foreigners to celebrate their outdoor weddings, far from the traditional rigors of large cities. This trend continues in 2026, with many choosing outdoor venues, from the spaces in front of Rocca Manna to the Belvedere di Balai.
The couple's choice speaks of a love that transcends geographical boundaries and found in Porto Torres the ideal place to celebrate a unique moment. The event was organized in just a few months thanks to the hard work of event planner Francesca Parodi. Originally from Porto Torres, Francesca began her professional career in Rome and later moved to Amsterdam, where she currently lives, continuing to develop her business and offering her experience to couples from abroad. Her goal now is to promote the Porto Torres area as an ideal location combining romance and stunning landscapes. The German couple had expressed their desire to get married on the island, and in just a few months, their dream was realized. The Gulf of Asinara, with its light, sea, and landscapes, captivated the newlyweds from Metzingen, just as an increasing number of foreign couples are choosing the Northwest coast not only for the beauty of its beaches, but also for its authenticity, history, and traditions.
