Michele Murenu, the young Forestry Corps agent involved in a terrible accident on the road between Santadi and Villaperuccio, did not make it.
The company car in which she was travelling with a colleague to reach an area affected by a fire overturned , for circumstances which are currently being investigated.
When help arrived, the boy – 24 years old, from Assemini – was transported by helicopter to Brotzu in Cagliari, in desperate conditions, but the doctors' attempts to save his life were unfortunately in vain .
His 29-year-old colleague , originally from Castiadas , who was on board with him and at the wheel of the car, was injured . The woman was extracted from the wreckage by firefighters and taken to the Sirai hospital in Carbonia for checks.
The car was seized for further investigation, while the body was returned to the family by order of the judicial authorities.
The surveys were carried out by the Carabinieri of the Santadi station, working to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
