Fire threatens Capoterra . A large blaze broke out this afternoon near the cemetery, very close to homes and businesses. Firefighters, the Forestry Corps, assisted by a helicopter, and several volunteer teams have been working on the scene for hours.
The fire was declared an interface fire, meaning it threatened homes and rural structures .
Several people, seeing the flames approaching, fled the area, where several parked cars were also present. The Forestry Corps also intervened on this front, supported by a light helicopter from its operational base in Pula.
Another fire has engaged firefighters in the Macchiareddu consortium area , in the Assemini area. According to reconstructions so far, the flames broke out outside an abandoned warehouse, affecting part of a photovoltaic park.
Three other fires broke out during the night in Capoterra , most likely of arson.
