Fires, eight hectares in smoke in Castiadas. Investigations to trace those responsible

Reclamation and safety operations are underway in the Castiadas countryside on the approximately eight hectares of land devastated by the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon . The last flames were put out during the night. The area affected is that of Maloccu and Nuraghe Uda where portions of forest, Mediterranean scrub, stubble and eucalyptus were destroyed. The environmental damage is great.
A helicopter, foresters, firefighters and municipal workers are still operating on site.
The flames also threatened the properties of a farm, with the smoke complicating traffic on the Nuova Orientale (the carabinieri from the Compagnia di San Vito stations and the local police of Castiadas were mobilized for traffic safety).
However, the alarm was raised in the tourist village of Santa Giusta where the director Giovanni iozza had triggered the entire security apparatus. No problem for guests who are now peacefully spending the morning at the seaside.
The Foresters, coordinated by Commander Mauro Pisun and the Carabinieri of Castiadas, Costa Rei and the Compagnia di San Vito, coordinated by Major Massimo Meloni, have started investigations to trace the causes of the fire and any responsibilities.
