Igor Sollai continues to profess his innocence . The 43-year-old, accused of killing and hiding the body of Francesca Deidda, wrote a letter to the victim's brother in which he once again proclaimed his innocence and asked to meet him when the case is closed .

The letter was sent from the Uta prison, addressed to Andrea Deidda . It was he who reported his sister's disappearance on May 30 and who had the first doubts about his brother-in-law's statements , who spoke of the woman's voluntary departure. Sollai, according to investigators, killed his wife at home, then took her by car to the place where the body was found and then used her phone to chat with relatives, colleagues and friends in order to make them believe she was still alive .

Instead, the remains of Francesca Deidda , who disappeared from San Sperate on 10 May, were found on 18 July in a bag in the countryside between Sinnai and San Vito , near the old 125.

Meanwhile, the investigations of the Carabinieri continue. The experts of the RIS of Cagliari entered again this morning the home of the couple in San Sperate , where in the previous inspections copious traces of blood were found , and recovered some evidence. With them the military of the provincial command, who seized some documents. Also on site were the lawyers who defend Sollai, Carlo Demurtas and Laura Pirarba, and the lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli who represents Andrea Deidda.

In the next few days , further checks will be carried out on the van and the Volvo that Sollai had in use and that he had sold, telling the buyer to “degrease it well” . Technical checks will also begin on the computer material seized during the investigations, starting with Sollai's cell phone.
