This morning in Cagliari, passengers on Aeroitalia's first flight of the day, flight XZ 02350, scheduled for 6:30 a.m., experienced disruption and a bit of a scare.

Just ten minutes after departure, after having travelled about seventy kilometres, a loud noise was heard coming from the right engine, accompanied by a rapid flash of flame.

Initial checks revealed nothing abnormal, but as a precaution, the pilot decided to turn back and return to Elmas airport.

The travelers were rescheduled to a later flight.

The captain, in full compliance with safety procedures and in agreement with the aviation authorities, has decided to return to Cagliari. We wish to emphasize," the airline specifies, "that the situation in no way compromised the safety of the flight or the passengers on board ."

Furthermore: "Aeroitalia, always attentive to the maximum safety and comfort of its passengers, had already arranged for a replacement aircraft to be readily available, which was present in Cagliari as a backup.
