In Oristano a self-styled sorceress promised to remove the evil eye in exchange for large sums of money. And an elderly woman resident in the city paid the considerable sum of 40 thousand euros to rely on his "care" .

A deception, obviously, which went on for about two years, for which the police have now identified those responsible: mother and son, of Lazio origin but residing in Oristano, who will have to answer for charges of multi-aggravated fraud.

According to what was ascertained by the investigations, the old woman was convinced over time by the "fortune teller" that she and some of her relatives had been subjected to serious spells by evil people .

The sorceress, with the help of her son, then made her believe that the only way to resolve the situation was - by paying - to turn to an elusive Father Casimiro, a sort of (non-existent) holy man capable of performing powerful magical rites. And so, from a simple tarot reading, the old woman began to shell out money after money for fake rituals and séances, to the point of giving tens of thousands of euros to the scammers.

After the first suspicions, investigations began, also conducted with shadowing, and in the end the agents carried out more in-depth checks and also a search of the "fortune teller's" home.

Here they found part of the money, hidden under a bed, and also numerous designer items, latest generation computers and smartphones, probably purchased with the money taken from the old woman.

Furthermore, in the house there was everything needed to carry out "magical rites" such as tarot cards, amulets, candles, potions, colored powders and fetishes of all kinds.

At that point the measures were taken for mother and son, with the report to the Judicial Authority, before which the two will also have to answer for the aggravating circumstance of having taken advantage of the vulnerability of the elderly victim.
