Tragedy on the beach of Perd'e Sali, on the Sarroch coast.

The victim is a 73-year-old man who fell ill while swimming in the sea. The old man was no longer able to stay afloat and was swallowed by the waves, finding death by drowning.

To give the alarm were some swimmers, who saw the old man in the sea asking for help, only to disappear underwater.

A Coast Guard patrol boat arrived at the scene as a matter of urgency, along with a rubber dinghy that left the beach.

The man was thus recovered, now unconscious. Returned to shore, he was subjected to resuscitation maneuvers by 118 personnel.

Attempts to save his life have unfortunately been in vain.
