Elderly woman undernourished and alone at home, her 50-year-old son reported to Sinnai
The situation was reported to the municipal social services so that the woman can be transferred to an RSA
The 87-year-old mother was found lying on a double bed, in an advanced state of muscular atrophy , probably due to severe malnutrition , and was rescued and transported to hospital by the carabinieri. Now the 50-year- old son , residing in Sinnai , has been denounced for neglect of incapacity.
Unemployed and with previous charges against him, the man, despite having to take care of the elderly woman as the only relative, had abandoned her inside his home.
The situation was also reported to the social services of the Municipality of Sinnai so that the elderly woman can be entrusted to a nursing home that can adequately provide for her.
On July 22, the military had intervened precisely at the request of the councilor for social services and labor policies of the Municipality. The carabinieri, after having forced the entrance door, had entered the house and found the pensioner, a widow, in the bedroom.
