Divers in the dam basin, drones and beaten river banks: the desperate searches for Davide Manca

Divers in the basin of the Medau Zirimilis dam filled by the flood wave. Specialists from the Saf (Speleo alpino fluviale) unit who searched the riverbed. And again: drones and dog units, with the support of Alpine Rescue volunteers.

The difficult search operations for Davide Manca, the forty-one-year-old who has been missing since the night between Saturday and Sunday, when his off-road vehicle was swept away by water while he was trying to cross the Rio Camboni, in Monte Arcosu, continued for the third consecutive day in an area devastated by flooding.

The teams are coordinated by the Prefecture, remotely, and by the firefighters, on site. But unfortunately, no good news has arrived today either.

The area to be searched is very large, as is evident from the map published on the page “Sardegna - Hiking sui sentieri dei cervi”: Manca was upstream, the stream flows to the basin. And while pieces of the car have been found, there is still no trace of him.
