The agreements with the voluntary organizations, including barracelli, have not yet been signed. And the fire - fighting campaign on the island is at risk .

This was denounced by the advisers of the Alleanza Rosso Verde group Daniele Cocco and Eugenio Lai , who presented a question to understand the reasons for this delay.

«The 2023 Stability Law has allocated the sum of 1,500,000 euros for the activation of agreements with civil protection volunteer organizations and voluntary organizations but, to date, the agreements have not yet been signed - they explain -. The resolution approving the convention scheme dates back to a few days ago but is not yet available on the institutional website of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia".

A situation, comments Cocco, «unacceptable, which involves a strong reduction in the effectiveness of prevention and active fight against forest fires . The Municipalities cannot cope with the reduction, or worse the lack, of the very important activities carried out by the barracelli which represent in many areas of Sardinia, the only concrete activity of surveillance and protection of the environmental heritage".

The draft agreement, recalls the councilor, was strongly criticized by the trade unions as " it makes it practically impossible to pay the hours worked in the barracelli ". Added to this, the conclusion, are "the various disputes still open, such as the failure to pay the sums owed to Bono's barrage company".
