An 84-year-old pensioner with a full disability went to the post office a few days ago and made a shocking discovery. Her bank account, containing all her savings, had been blocked by Abbanoa's forced collection . The elderly woman learned firsthand that the regional water utility company had proceeded with the "forced" collection of approximately €5,960, an operation that froze her bank account, cards, and various applications.

The incident occurred between Olbia and Budoni , and the elderly woman, returning home, felt unwell. Fortunately, the situation resolved itself after a brief stay in the hospital.

Abbanoa, after years of litigation, has proceeded based on legal qualifications and provisions that allow the company to act in this manner. However, the question many people have raised concerns the manner and content of the company's communications.

"The formal communications were truly complex, making it difficult to understand the contents of the letters. Elderly people have difficulty understanding. You can't just find out that your account has been blocked." Indeed, in the company's letters, only the expert eye of a lawyer could identify the notice of a coercive procedure that Abbanoa, based on a law, can activate without going through the courts.
