The trial for the death of Edmondo Atzori, the 84-year-old who disappeared in December 2018 from the retirement home in Gonnoscodina and was found dead three weeks later by his son Bruno, near the provincial road to Simala, ended with three convictions .
The Court of Assizes of Cagliari has handed down two sentences of 8 months for manslaughter, with suspended sentence, to Andreina Aresu and Alessandro Aresu and one of 2 years for abandonment of an incapacitated person following death to Gaetano Calatri, also with suspended sentence.
The judges partially accepted the reconstruction of the Oristano Prosecutor's Office, although reducing the requested sentences. The victim's family members had already been compensated.
