Crushed by a granite slab: one dead in the Buddusò quarry

Tragedy in a granite quarry, this afternoon, in Buddusò.
A 73-year-old retired entrepreneur, Pietro Bua, died after being crushed by a slab of granite in the Bua Graniti quarry, of which he was the owner, in the Biralò area.
Bua had left the reins of the company to his son. After working on a piece of land in the area, where he cultivated a vegetable garden, he had stopped by the quarry to take a look, as he often did.
While he was in the yard, where the usual granite handling operations were underway with a crane, for reasons yet to be ascertained, one of the granite slabs overwhelmed him, leaving him no escape.
The 118 emergency services, the Carabinieri of the Ozieri Company, the firefighters and the Spresal inspectors immediately arrived on site to provide assistance and reconstruct the dynamics of the tragedy.
