The former president of the region Ugo Cappellacci acquitted of bankruptcy charges, the sentence for the former mayor of Carloforte Marco Simeone reduced from 9 to 7 and a half years. Thus ended the appeal process for the collapse of Sept Italia, the company that proceeded with paints which went bankrupt in 2010 with a hole of 10 million euros.

The charges had led to ten convictions in the first degree trial.

The former president of the Cappellacci Region was acquitted with full formula. Thus overturned the sentence to 2 and a half years.

The lawyer Dionigi Scano, as well as Luigi and Maria Simeone (4 years in first instance), Stefano Fercia (two years) and Elisabetta Morello, Oscar Gibellini, Antonello Melis and Riccardo also acquitted on appeal after the two and a half year sentence. Pissard (sentenced in the first trial to one year).

The charges ranged from fraudulent bankruptcy to documentary bankruptcy, plus other corporate crimes.

The defendants were all part of either the board of directors or the board of auditors of the bankrupt company with a gap of over 10 million euros. The then mayor Marco Simeone ended up in prison in October 2012 and was released after ten months in custody and another five under house arrest. Numerous charges have also fallen for him, but not the heaviest ones that have convinced the appellate judges to reduce the final sentence to 7 and a half years. The appeal to the Supreme Court has been discounted for him after the reasons for the sentence have been filed.
