Covid, cases rising in Cagliari and in the Oristano area

The epidemiological curve of Covid-19 in Sardinia continues to improve even if in the week 14-20 September there was an increase in new cases (+ 1.4%) compared to the previous survey. The incidence is still decreasing , going from 361 currently positive per 100,000 inhabitants to 269. But the slowdown is not evenly distributed in all territories: more marked in the Nuorese area with 144 per 100,000 inhabitants (-26.3% compared to previous week), less in Sassarese with 109 (-2.8%) and South Sardinia with 128 (-2.3%). Conversely, trend reversal in the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 157 (+ 23% compared to the previous week) and in the province of Oristano with 198 (+ 13.5%). This is what transpires from the Gimbe weekly monitoring.
IN HOSPITALS - The number of beds occupied by coronavirus patients in the medical area remains below the national average (with a decrease from 4.7% to 4.1%) while the number of beds in intensive care is above the national average (3.4 % compared to the 2.5% recorded previously).
On the vaccine front, the percentage of the population over 5 years that has not received any dose of vaccine is 10.1% (Italy average 9.9%) to which the over 5 year population is temporarily protected, as it is cured of Covid. 19 for less than 180 days, equal to 1.9%.
The percentage of the over 5-year-old population that has not received the third dose of vaccine is 12.2% (Italy average 11.2%) to which the over-5-year-old population healed for less than 120 days, which cannot receive the third dose immediately, equal to 5.7%.
The vaccination coverage rate with fourth dose is 11.6% (Italy average 16.6%), while among children aged between 5 and 11 who have completed the vaccination cycle the percentage is 41. , 6% (Italian average 35.2%) to which an additional 4.5% (Italian average 3.3%) must be added with the first dose only.
