The emergency is national, with almost 110 thousand "pending" trials. Juvenile courts are increasingly in trouble, with a flood of cases waiting to reach a solution: ranging from orphans of feminicides to alcoholic parents, up to children who are victims of abuse. The fate of the children, says a Corriere della Sera report, hangs on the backlog of proceedings .

Even in Sardinia, where more than three thousand have accumulated between Cagliari and Sassari : 2191 in the capital, 874 in the opposite "pole". Alarming numbers, but still a slight improvement compared to last year, when the "pending", the files waiting to be examined by the judges, were around 3500.

Chronic staff shortages , including judges and administrative staff, are weighing on juvenile courts. Suffice it to say that in Cagliari, compared to the six judges expected, only four actual judges are in office. In fact, taking a simple average, each of them has over 500 procedures on their table waiting to be closed.
