An autopsy will be performed on Friday, October 3, at Cagliari hospital on the body of Claudio Manca, the 49-year-old found dead last Friday with his damaged bike in a canal in Terralba.
Battista Manis, 52, the businessman and owner of numerous tobacco shops in the Oristano area, is under investigation for the 49-year-old's death. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder . The Oristano Prosecutor's Office has appointed coroner Roberto Demontis to perform the autopsy. He will be responsible for determining how the 49-year-old died and whether his death, as appears to be the result of his bicycle being hit by a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene.
A hearing to validate the arrest warrant for the businessman, who has appointed Milanese lawyer Ivano Chiesa as his defense attorney, will be scheduled for the next few hours. In recent days, the 52-year-old had reported the fire at his villa and, in videos circulating on social media, accused someone of being paid to do so. He also identified the perpetrator with a nickname that appears to be linked to Claudio Manca.
