Emanuele Ragnedda, the 41-year-old businessman from Arzachena who confessed to the murder of Cinzia Pinna, 33, from Castelsardo, assisted by his lawyer Luca Montella, has decided to withdraw his appeal for review.

A formalized decision made "in full agreement with my client," Montella said, emphasizing that he "does not wish to add any further statements."

The hearing scheduled for tomorrow in Sassari Court, following the request for release filed by the lawyer who had challenged the pre-trial detention order, will therefore not take place.

Since this was a confessed murderer, it was difficult, if not impossible, to obtain the revocation of the precautionary measure. Therefore, it is plausible that the decision to appeal was technical and procedural in nature, determined by the need to examine the documents that the Prosecutor's Office must provide once the appeal is filed.
