A simple kiosk transformed into an illegal open-air disco , all without any respect for safety regulations and without the necessary authorizations . This is what the Carabinieri discovered, in collaboration with Siae staff, in Carloforte . The owner of the business, a young twenty-four-year-old entrepreneur resident on the island, was reported. The charges against him concern serious violations in terms of safety at work and the illegal opening of places of public entertainment.

The investigations began with an inspection carried out by the military on May 25. According to the findings, the kiosk area had been set up to host an evening with loud music, without authorization and without paying royalties to Siae. During the inspection, a serious security problem was also discovered. As confirmed by the investigators, it was discovered that all the emergency exits were closed from the inside, making a rapid evacuation impossible in case of need and thus endangering the safety of the many people present at the evening.

Following the investigations, the Carabinieri imposed administrative fines of approximately 3,000 euros and seized all documentation relating to the organization of the event. The operation is part of the intensified controls during events with strong tourist appeal, such as the Girotonno .
