The climate has changed and Carbonia is also paying a pledge: despite the weeding, part of the city is still overrun by weeds and even two more extraordinary interventions are needed which will cost 130 thousand euros. Interventions with mechanical weeding of weeds.

The environment councilor Manolo Mureddu and the mayor Pietro Morittu illustrate the measures: «In the last 13 months we have carried out three interventions but thanks to the ban on the use of chemical herbicides, the tropicalized climate with periods of heat and sudden rains and the instability of many sidewalks, the decorum is still lacking». Therefore the Municipality has dedicated a new, extraordinary investment for a quarter and then a fifth of weeding even in areas not usually included in the services.

These new interventions are unprecedented in the past: generally in cities similar to Carbonia there are at most two weeding rounds. At the same time, the mayor issued an order towards citizens and other public bodies (primarily the Province, Area and Asl) for the cleaning of non-municipal areas.
