In Carbonia the archaeological park of Monte Sirai reopens . After the large fire that in recent days hit the archaeological site of Monte Sirai and the surrounding area, the managers of the structure have announced the reopening to the public .

Starting today, Tuesday 13 August, guided tours will officially resume with regular hours as per the summer programme : «We remind you that the Park will also be open on Ferragosto from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm» is stated in the press release.

"We thank all those who intervened during the rescue operations: the State Forestry Corps, the Fire Brigade, the Civil Protection, the voluntary associations, the health personnel, the Carabinieri, the State Police and the Local Police. Thanks to the Mayor of Carbonia and to all the people who, in various capacities, have shown us their closeness."

The managers did not fail to send a message of thanks also to the employees who have worked hard in recent days to reopen the archaeological area : "We thank you again for your collaboration in these difficult days" they wrote in a note.

And in the meantime, the last two cats of the Monte Sirai feline colony, Morgana and Agostino, who are still missing after the fire, have been found alive: «Fortunately, the flames did not reach their homes and the cats do not seem to have suffered the consequences of the fire».
