Increased security checks were carried out in the Cagliari area for the Easter weekend, with 166 people and 73 vehicles checked by the Carabinieri on Easter Monday alone. Numerous reports were filed. The extraordinary security plan involved hundreds of officers deployed throughout the province. Two reports of drunk driving were received: a twenty-five-year-old from Cagliari and a sixty-three-year-old from Sarroch, who tested positive for alcohol with levels above the legal limit. A sixty-seven-year-old from Iglesias, stopped in Assemini, was reported for refusing to submit to tests.

During the checks, other violations were also discovered: in Quartu Sant'Elena, a thirty-five-year-old man was found with two switchblades and several doses of cocaine. In Elmas, a thirty-nine-year-old from Sestu was caught with a Pattadese cigarette while driving without a license.

Finally, six reports were made to the Prefecture for personal use of hashish between Cagliari and its hinterland. Among these was a 21-year-old foreigner found in possession of psychotropic drugs without a prescription.
