Fiorella Monni, 40, from Orune, did not make it, having been involved in a serious road accident that occurred yesterday evening around 8:30 pm on the outskirts of the town . The car driven by the forty-year-old who was travelling on state road 389 a few kilometres from the town centre, for reasons yet to be ascertained went off the road and hit a large tree: the impact was violent and destroyed the front part of the car.

On site, the Nuoro firefighters worked together with medical and healthcare personnel to extract the woman from the passenger compartment.

Monni, suffering from multiple trauma, was transported to the hospital in red code, but the doctors' attempts to save her life were unfortunately in vain.

Brain death was declared on Friday evening, with the family authorizing the removal of the organs.
