It surfaced on the asphalt of the State Road 195 two months ago, and since then - despite repeated reports - the water leak that floods the junction for Su Spantu 2, has remained there without anyone intervening. The only thing done during all this time was to put up warning signs to signal the swamp, but the water was there and still is.
Giannella Oro, a resident of the area, is asking for an end to this waste of water: "In times when water resources are scarce it is unacceptable to see that leak, two months have passed but nothing has changed, I hope someone will intervene and fix the fault in that pipeline once and for all".
The line, in reality, would not be drinking water, but carries raw water, therefore suitable for industrial use, from Tecnocasic and Saras. The mayor, Beniamino Garau, clarifies the situation: «This time Abbanoa has nothing to do with it, among other things the technicians of the water service management company had also intervened to see the problem first-hand, that pipeline carries water for industrial use to the Sarroch refinery. To repair that leak, the flow cannot be interrupted, that is why interventions are underway to create a bypass that will allow that leak to be closed and, at the same time, to continue to guarantee industrial water to Saras».
