The puzzle of traffic closures in the center of Cagliari is complete : from this morning cars will also stop in viale Trieste , on the stretch of road that goes from piazza del Carmine to via Caprera . Just via Caprera will now be viable only downhill (as happened years ago), while via Maddalena only in the direction of via Roma, with the obligation to turn right.

And with the closure, the construction site was immediately started, with the first excavations on the sides of the road, under the careful supervision of the archaeologists: in fact, the sword of Damocles always hangs over the regular continuation of the works due to the possible presence of finds from Roman origin. Only a few weeks ago, in fact, a fountain from an aqueduct near the station was found.

The only ones who can transit are the residents, to whom a central corridor has been reserved to reach private homes and garages , but commercial activities are above all penalized by the closure: "For the unloading of particular goods", explains the municipal councilor to Traffic, Alessio Mereu, «it will be possible to reach an agreement with the company. We knew it wasn't going to be easy, but we wanted to do our best to relaunch Viale Trieste, which has recently been quite dangerous for plants and for safety in general. When the work is finished, all these difficulties will pay off .'

The works are divided into five lots: once the first intervention is finished, the stretch of road affected by the works started today will reopen and we will proceed in the direction of via Roma.
