When art meets mental health, something beautiful and truly important can be born. So much so that it is worth a national award.

The project “ArteS – Art and Health Multipurpose space for listening and creativity”, promoted by the Municipality of Cagliari and managed by the social cooperative Panta Rei Sardegna, received a special mention for Originality and Innovation in the context of the Oscar della Salute 2025.

The award was announced during the XXII National Meeting “City for Health” held in Bergamo , where the best Italian projects dedicated to promoting well-being and sustainability in urban policies were evaluated. ArteS was among the 12 most deserving projects on a national scale, selected by a scientific commission for its creative and inclusive approach in the field of mental health.

The award for the Municipality was collected by Stefania Pusceddu, social worker and project manager, accompanied by Marta Chessa and Melania Cabras, representatives of the Panta Rei cooperative, which has been managing the municipal center dedicated to healing through artistic expression for years.

The ArteS center, operating for years in the capital, is a continuous laboratory of creativity, inclusion and awareness, where people with mental illness find tools to regain autonomy, voice and social dignity . Painting, theater, writing and other artistic activities become means here to break down stigma and create community.

"An important recognition - commented the Health Councilor, Anna Puddu - not only for the Administration, which believes and invests in the project, but above all for the many people who animate the center every day. The mention of the Healthy Cities Network encourages us to continue on this path, strengthening the synergy between public and private that has proven to be successful".
