November 29th marks the 17th National Parkinson's Day. This year, a new initiative is being introduced: #UnPassoperilParkinson, a symbolic walk organized in numerous Italian cities, including Cagliari, in collaboration with neurological centers and local associations. The initiative, launched by the LIMPE Per Parkinson ETS foundation, is an invitation to walk together, one step at a time, toward greater awareness and an increasingly united community around those living with Parkinson's disease. Participation is free and open to all.

In Cagliari, the event is promoted by the Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Centers of the ARNAS G. Brotzu and the AOU Policlinico di Monserrato, together with the Parkinson Sardinia Association, with the aim of creating an opportunity for participation, solidarity, and scientific dissemination open to all citizens.

The walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. from Piazzale Magellano, in the Sant'Elia neighborhood. Along the way, there will be a moment of remembrance dedicated to Vittorio Dessì and Roberto Musiu, a passionate marathon runner. The finish line is the Lazzaretto in Cagliari, where a cultural and community event will take place, featuring a presentation by journalist Giuseppe Deiana, editor-in-chief of L'Unione Sarda. This will be followed by poetry readings by patients and a short musical performance. The walk will continue with a scientific presentation by Professor Massimiliano Pau, an expert in the study of movement. There will also be a scientific session led by doctors from the two Parkinson's Centers, dedicated to the clinical, rehabilitative, and care aspects of the disease, with the aim of offering useful tools for improving the quality of life of those involved.
