He has traveled all over the world, from Venice to Shanghai, hosting some of the world's most famous celebrities. In 2020 he had already arrived in Cagliari, for a technical stopover. He returned yesterday morning, at Molo Ichnusa: the Octopus with its 126 meters (one third larger than a football field) and at the time of its launch (2003) the fourth largest yacht in the world is back in Sardinia for a new technical port.

Impossible to know who transported to Cagliari, the only certain information is that it comes from Turkey and that the passengers on board are very wealthy people. Pleonastic, maybe. Whether it's high or low season, the rental price doesn't change: you have to pay two million two hundred thousand a week, services excluded.

The mega ship, sold in 2018 for over 300 million euros after the death of her historic owner Paul Allen, houses two helicopters on the upper deck (one in the front and one in the back) and a 19-metre tender anchored at the stern. In total there are seven tenders on board. The yacht has a swimming pool, located aft on one of her upper decks, and two mini-submarines. One of these has been designed to study the ocean floor, thanks to remote control, and is capable of reaching a depth of 3,000 metres; the other can accommodate up to 10 people and go down to a depth of 400 meters.

But on board «Octopus» also a cinema, a basketball court, a disco and even a recording studio with a "sea view" where Mick Jagger also recorded some tracks. It also has two lifts inside, to move more comfortably and an SUV which, some say, drove around Cagliari on Friday night. Among other things, Octopus has an "ice class" classified hull, meaning it can sail on the frozen seas of the Pole. It also has a diving center, a tank for admiring the seabed, a hyperbaric chamber and an oven for cooking pizza. They certainly didn't turn it on in Cagliari.
