The gallstones had become a problem. So Maurizio Manca , a 63-year-old from Bosa decided to have surgery, to say goodbye to thoughts and pain. It's a shame, however, that the operation, set for March 18 at the Brotzu in Cagliari, was never carried out, amidst delays and postponements that the patient, as he himself said in a letter written to Unionesarda.it, did not accept.

Once the ticket was paid, at the first successful booking attempt on the CupWeb portal, everything gave rise to hope that the surgical visit would be carried out within the established time frame. But things took a different turn close to "day x". «On Friday the 15th at 9.44am I received a phone call from a landline, informing me that the appointment had been postponed to April 4th, 17 days later, due to a lack of staff ». The new date was confirmed by the Cup Sardegna operators a few hours later, when Manca, to be on the safe side, decided to call back: «They assured me that the changes would appear in the personal area of the site, even if this never happened».

An odyssey, that of the intervention, destined not to end here. This morning the last chapter, with yet another call - this time from a cell phone - with which «they have postponed the visit due to a transplant operation. It was 7.42am", specifies the patient who ultimately decided to give up and opt for private treatment . In the discouragement, between the lines of the letter, some considerations, starting from the fact that - as the changes to the very first appointment are nowhere to be seen - "it will however appear from the documents that the structure respects its commitments and deadlines".

«I burned two days of vacation, causing great inconvenience to the company where I work – confesses Manca -. The call relating to the latest postponement strangely came from a mobile number and the inconvenience complained of is now common to many anonymous and silent citizens, but only because they are resigned. The lack of personnel, the small budget allocations and other difficulties have little influence on the shameful situation, because the public service is now based on false data and statistics, on political correctness which is synonymous with lies. But when will we stop kidding ourselves? ».
