Cagliari, synthetic drugs to minors: it's an alarm

In twelve months the Carabinieri seized eight tons of narcotics. A river of drugs for the Cagliari market intercepted by investigators and that should have satisfied an increasingly growing and varied demand. Because in addition to cocaine, heroin, marijuana and hashish, the demand for synthetic drugs and psychotropic drugs, used with other substances or with alcohol, by young people, including minors, is increasing.

"The age of consumers is decreasing in a worrying way", highlights General Luigi Grasso, provincial commander of the force.

An alarming phenomenon as also emerged in the latest provincial committees for public order and safety held in the Prefecture. And there is the suspicion that the market of new drugs created in the laboratory is managed by large criminal organizations.

The same pink cocaine, increasingly present in the Cagliari environment , has been studied to win over customers also in marketing: the name cocaine serves to recall the more well-known substance without having anything to do with it in terms of composition and the colour makes it attractive.
