The Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, is in Cagliari to take stock of a project much coveted by the city and the Municipality, the new sports hall.

The process of what will be the future structure was traced this morning at Villa Devoto, in the presence of the president of the Region Christian Solinas and the mayor Paolo Truzzu, with the highest representatives of the Sardinian sports federations.

The commitment of viale Trento is decisive for the start of the works and for the launch of the new Palazzetto awaited by the citizens of Cagliari and which will see the light of day in the Sant'Elia district, thanks to the funds within the Pnrr tender of 25 million euros (one dozen from the Region).

The works will be assigned by March and in 2026 the 8,000-seat facility will be a reality, according to the intentions of the protagonists who are working on it.

«A structure that Cagliari has been waiting for for decades», said Solinas, «which could be the home for numerous sports federations but will also have a multifunctional destination».
