Cagliari, in the streets against the "genocide" in Gaza: "They want to stop us from demonstrating"

Why take to the streets? «To defend freedom and celebrate remembrance day. We are all Palestinians."

This is the reason that pushed "A Foras" and the Sardinian Solidarity Committee with Palestine to demonstrate today in Cagliari in front of the Teatro Lirico. Initially a procession was planned up to Piazza Yenne, but the Police Headquarters did not give authorization so the demonstrators - around 300 - decided to stop in Via Sant'Alenixedda, where the flags of Palestine, Sardinia Nazione, Rifondazione Comunista, Power to the people, A Foras, while the music of the Modena City Ramblers, Crc Posse, alternates from the speakers.

«We have chosen this date, because like a beacon it helps us recognize discrimination, abuse, fascism and prevent a new genocide», say the organizers. «The Government, through the Police Headquarters, would like to prevent us from doing so since the pre-announced demonstration would violate the universal value that was recognized on January 27th».
