In Cagliari, in the historic Stampace district, the Vespiglia is back: the appointment with the fifteenth edition of the race for the star, organized by the Vespa Club Cagliari association, is for Sunday 26 February, in via Azuni, starting at 10.30.

The Vespiglia is nothing more than a tribute to the famous Sartiglia of Oristano: while the latter is performed by a rider on a horse who runs towards the star, in via Azuni crews made up of a person who drives and a passenger who with the sword will compete try to skewer the target.

The tribute to the original has always been recognized by the Sartiglia di Oristano Foundation, as a sister initiative, due to the seriousness with which almost all the regulations of the event of the city of Eleonora are respected.

This year's theme, to liven up after two years of hiatus, is "colours". But also myths and customs of the traditional Carnival of Cagliari.

The Vespiglia is a competition between the districts: each team represents one of the four ancient districts of Cagliari, exactly as for the Sartiglia there are the gremi.
