Despite raised walkways, pedestrian dangers remain on the stretch of road where a 16-year-old student died.

A girl was hit this morning while crossing the street on Via Peretti, in Cagliari.
According to reports, the accident occurred at the same spot where a sixteen-year-old student on his way to school was struck and killed in January 2024. Other pedestrians also suffered near-death injuries there. The last major incident occurred last January , when a fourteen-year-old girl was struck by a car.
Raised pedestrian crossings have been installed on the road, but unfortunately, they don't seem to reduce the danger for pedestrians.
This morning, the local police had to intervene to regulate traffic and conduct an investigation. Fortunately, the girl suffered no serious injuries: she was taken to the nearby Brotzu Hospital for checkups.
