The tight investigations into the case of the five-day-old newborn found lifeless yesterday in Burgos focus on the family.
The little girl was born at home by her mother, Maria Giovanna Piredda, but both the causes and the date of death are still to be clarified.
Bono's carabinieri, led by Captain Davide Masina, found the body on Friday afternoon. The Arma soldiers arrived at the house together with the 118 operators after the young woman's family members requested the help of the rescue.
The Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office coordinates the investigations, entrusted to the Carabinieri. There are currently no members in the register of suspects, but there are many people heard by the investigators , especially the closest family members of the woman: mother, father and sister, who live with her at home. The boyfriend was also tracked.
From the elements collected so far, there are no obvious signs of beatings on Piredda . But it is a track that the investigators do not feel they can exclude , as well as the initial hypothesis, namely that the newborn died of malnutrition or ined a, must be examined and ascertained.
To know with certainty the causes and the time of death, elements that will give a turning point to the investigations in one direction or another, however, we must wait for the results of the autopsy ordered by the Nuoro prosecutors. And it will take a few more days. The medical examiner assignment will most likely be given next week .
The small community of Burgos has been astonished since yesterday, in shock at the tragedy that struck a girl well integrated in the community , with many friends and the desire to open her own business as a beautician.
