Abbanoa has been forced to account for the repeated pipe breaks recorded in Quartu in recent times: two in just two days (on Via Corridoni and Via Manara), which have caused serious disruption, interrupting water supply throughout almost the entire city and closing public offices.

Mayor Graziano Milia is sounding the alarm: "The frequent problems recently encountered in Quartu's water mains, resulting in water supply interruptions in several neighborhoods, are causing numerous and serious problems for residents, schools—for which today I issued the second closure order in two days—and public offices, many of which have been forced to cease operations," he said.

This morning, Milia "expressed my concerns by telephone to the president of Abbanoa's board of directors, Giuseppe Sardu, and simultaneously requested an urgent meeting to determine the cause of these ongoing water main breaks."

In the next few days, the mayor announced, "we will meet to examine the situation further, so that we can find rapid solutions to prevent a recurrence of these breakdowns and the resulting inconvenience."
