Big fire in the reeds of Sorso-Sennori: vineyards and olive groves saved

A violent fire devastated over four hectares of land in the countryside between Sennori and Sorso, along the banks of the Silis river, in the San Lorenzo area.

The flames that broke out from the reeds spread among the vegetation pushed by the strong wind that fueled the fire, complicating the extinguishing operations.

The intervention to tame the flames began in the afternoon and continued until late in the evening, when it was finally possible to tame the fire that risked extending to the olive groves, orchards and vineyards. On the spot, the fire brigade teams of the provincial command of Sassari, intervened with an Aps, a half barrel and the peasants.

Also on site was the patrol from the Sassari Forest Station and a helicopter from the Fenosu Oristano base. The area will continue to be manned by a tank truck from the Forestas Agency and the civil protection of Osilo.
